Spring has Sprung

Being that spring has begun, I decided to write about spring-related things! So sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Spring Fun Jar

Sometimes during spring break my sister and I would get bored, so my parents came up with a brilliant idea to help keep everyday entertaining! We called it the "Spring Fun Jar". In this jar we would add ideas of things we could do over spring break or on the weekends. We would put our ideas onto a piece of paper, then into a jar. Then, we would later pull from that jar to choose what we would do for the day. Here are some things we'd usually choose...

  • Picnics

  • Zoo day

  • Waterpark fun

  • Watch 3 classic movies

  • Have a bonfire

  • Go to a baseball game

  • Go to a carnival

  • Watch a movie under the stars

  • Go to Disney World

  • Have a sleepover

  • Take a family bike ride

  • Do sidewalk chalk around the neighborhood

  • Decorate Easter eggs

  • Get ice cream

  • Plant flowers

  • Write a letter to a local official

  • Swim in a Great Lake

Now as great as some of these ideas are, they may not be feasible for everyone. I suggest making your own "Spring Fun Jar" and adding some of your favorite things to do when you're bored!

Golden Hour

Not to say that watching the sun set or rise in any other season isn't good, but during spring, it's so much more pretty. The flowers are just beginning to bloom, the birds are chirping, the temperature is perfect. It's not too hot, but it's also not too cold. It's all just so beautiful! Along with that, we have more hours of daylight. Here are a couple of my favorite photos of the sun so far this spring...

Spring Cleaning

No, it's not my favorite, but it's not the worst thing in the world. Spring cleaning can be very frustrating, especially on days where I may feel absolutely no motivation, but it's worth it at the end of the day. My favorite way to encourage myself to clean, especially in a fun way, is to blast music. As I've said in previous posts, I love to dance. Cleaning, to me, is a fun way to let out my inner dancer. I can't think of a single time where I didn't dance while I was cleaning. Sometimes I have to remind myself to find the fun in things, and that's the best way I have found the fun in Spring cleaning! How do you keep yourself motivated while cleaning? Tell me in the comments!

Chalk Trivia

During COVID when everyone was isolated, my family decided to do something called "Chalk Trivia". Whenever we would go on our family walk, we'd make sure to bring chalk, and we would write a question on the sidewalk that people could later answer using bits of chalk we would leave behind.

I remember how much joy I felt the day after we wrote our first question, and we saw one or two answers. As days went by, and we kept coming up with more creative questions, it seemed like everybody in the neighborhood was participating in this new form of human interaction.

All of a sudden, new people would write questions in other places around the neighborhood. It was honestly so cool! I would highly suggest trying this on your next walk. Who knows, it could brighten someones day!

Favorite Quote at the Moment

"I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious." ~ Michael Scott

I absolutely love the show "The Office" and could watch it all day long! I was watching an episode today and Michael Scott said this, and I thought it was the funniest thing. Comment down below with your favorite quote from a tv show! Or let me know your favorite tv show! I am always open to watching new ones.

I could spend all day watching Seinfeld episodes. My favorite episode is when Kramer hits a golf ball into a whale’s blowhole.
